These one-of-a-kind mens trousers have been created by London-based fashion designer and artist Bethany Williams for TOAST Renewed, from cream denim jeans returned through the TOAST Circle programme which have been deconstructed before reconstructing them into the new asymmetric shape. Featuring a twisted waistband, multiple waistbands and multiple belt loops.
“I wanted the fit to feel slightly off-kilter,” says Bethany. “I draped the shape on a menswear stand and Alex from Making for Change constructed the garment. There are also some meaningful stitches from the previous owner, and I chose to keep them and add my own stitching alongside them. I wanted the fit to feel slightly off-kilter. The mini kilt was designed to be worn with the trouser, bringing the two pieces together.”
