This one-of-a-kind tailored jacket has been created by London-based fashion designer and artist Bethany Williams for TOAST Renewed, using items from past TOAST collections that have been either damaged or returned to our warehouse. With an asymmetric form, it has a collar and a functional scarf attached to the shoulder which drapes down the front or back.
“I wanted to take a more traditional tailored shape and make it feel slightly different through the draping and proportions,” says Bethany. “The shape was developed from a tailored block and then draped on the stand. Alex from Making for Change then constructed the garment. The jacket uses wool samples from previous collections, patched together as part of the design, while the buttons are a mixture of different styles that came through the TOAST Circle Programme. The mustard-yellow scarf also came through the Donate programme. I wanted the piece to have a fitted, tailored feeling while bringing together different traces of previous garments and collections.”
