A friend of Eric Ravilious and Edward Bawden, Peggy Angus was an independent spirit and an inspiring teacher. Though known as a painter, she truly found her element in the 1950s, turning to pattern design: first collaborating with industry on tilework, where she found real success, and later producing her own wallpapers.
