Egle Silko Jewellery
Based in Estonia, jewellery maker Egle Silko creates textural pieces guided by her chosen metal, sterling silver. Her necklaces, rings and earrings carry intentional cracks and irregular surfaces, achieved through reticulation and freehand melting techniques.
A sterling silver ring, crafted by New Maker Egle Silko. Molten metal is sculpted by hand into an organic shape, inspired by clusters of lichen. Each ring carries subtle variations, with tool indentations left visible as marks of the making process.
Based in Tallinn, Estonia, Egle draws inspiration from natural Nordic landscapes and the inherent fluidity of her material. She uses reticulation and freehand melting techniques to form distinctive textures.
This item is part of our New Makers programme. In its eighth year, five makers demonstrating excellence in skill, originality and craftsmanship have been chosen by a TOAST panel.
