TOAST Suppliers

At TOAST, our aim is for our products to be as thoughtfully made as possible. Our collections are created in partnership with over 170 skilled suppliers who share our values of quality, craftsmanship and longevity. We work collaboratively with each supplier to develop better ways of creating our products that reduce our impact.

We are committed to working with suppliers that treat their workers well and provide safe working environments. All of the suppliers and manufacturers that work with us must uphold our Code of Conduct. We have built long-term relationships with them and view our suppliers as partners in evolving our processes.

We work with external auditors because we believe in holding ourselves and our business accountable and offering transparency to our customers.

For phase one, we have detailed the list of factories and manufacturers that produce the majority of our clothing and make up 80% of our annual spend below.

Each factory is regularly audited before a grade is attributed to their social, labour and environmental performance. The grading key is as follows:

Best: Outstanding with no minor issues
Better: Minor issues with Corrective Action Plan to complete within six months
Good: Requiring improvement with Corrective Action Plan to complete within six months
Unacceptable: Escalated Corrective Action Plan to complete within three months and no further orders to be placed

Over 70% of our suppliers achieved a Best or Better rating in our 2023 audit reviews. The remaining suppliers were rated as Good.

A Corrective Action Plan addresses issues such as, correct hazard tape on floorings, correct number of first aiders, or correct frequency of fire drills for the factory.

Asma Exports is one of our longest-standing relationships. The company, which we have collaborated with since 2006, understands our brand intrinsically and is responsible for producing many of our best-selling pieces.
