Putting the old year respectfully to bed and turning forward to face the new one: each day's light growing longer and, though there might not yet be much sign of it, knowing spring is not far off. New light and with it new ideas, new energy, new life as sure as there are snowdrops and daffodils pushing up in my garden.
A new approach in our books this season: we will publish four, each following a loose theme and comprised of a variety of photoshoots and small articles and each revealing a different aspect of our shoot on the island of Symi in the south-east of the Aegean, close enough to Asia Minor as to seem as though held there by two long-extending peninsulas.
So our collection this half year began with our imaginations in Japan, was worked on in West Wales and London, and was brought to fruition in Symi an eccentric combination that suited us perfectly.
